Days long past keep rolling by
Freedom’s gone, love’s a lie
Storms rage on and boats are tossed
Some are found but most are lost
Prayers are said and fingers crossed
No cage holds the albatross
Morning comes and news is read
Words are spoken but nothing’s said
Most have followed, but some have led
Deceivers weave their wicked web
Highways fill and lines are formed
Radios played and buses scorned
Most forgotten but some are mourned
The end’s in sight the prophets warn
Invading my day
What do I find
I see her so clearly
The world says I’m blind
Yet those visions of Rebecca…are so kind
And no one knows now
Why they come
Visions of Rebecca on my mind
Papers shuffled and money’s paid
Lies are told and games are played
Some will rise but most are laid
Truth is hidden while decisions are made
Drinks are shared in noonday’s sun
Lies are told and deals are done
Most are crying but some have fun
No way to tell just who won
Children crying hunger’s pain
The world is washed in acid rain
Some speak out but most abstain
Heralding the end of mankind’s reign
Whispers share things untold
Arm’s are empty with nothing to hold
Most are reluctant but some are bold
Seeds are planted when lies are told
Invading my day
What do I find
I see her so clearly
The world says I’m blind
Yet those visions of Rebecca…are so kind
And no one knows now
Why they come
Visions of Rebecca on my mind
Yesterday’s gone, those days are past
The clock won’t stop, it’s all too fast
Some may win but most finish last
Lives are lost when the die is cast
Visions of a flower yet grown
Pain raging where seeds are sown
Most condemning what few condone
Courage ends a life alone
Invading my day
What do I find
I see her so clearly
The world says I’m blind
Yet those visions of Rebecca…are so kind
And no one knows now
Why they come
Visions of Rebecca on my mind
